Katie's Friends

When Nicholas’s friend, Katie, moved away, I made her this quilt so she could keep memories of her friends near. I scanned in photos of the children in our playgroup and printed them on fabric using Printed Treasures fabric sheets. Gerda's Baby Jane

I have long admired the elaborate sampler quilt Brenda Papadakis wrote about in her book Dear Jane: The Two Hundred Twenty-Five Patterns from the 1863 Jane A. Stickle Quilt. In November 2003, I began my own Baby Jane quilt using the fabrics from my second Red Rooster Fabrics line, “Gerda’s Collection.”

NMNS Room 204 Snowpeople Quilt

The snowpeople for this machine applique quilt were designed by the students of my eldest son’s nursery school class. The children drew the pictures and chose the fabric; I stitched the appliques to the snowy landscape background. The Space Quilt was auctioned off in April 2005 to raise money for New Morning Nursery School’s endowment.
